R*time

Reut Regev’s R*time is a trombone-led, genre-defying progressive jazz–soul ensemble known for its bold sound and boundary-pushing approach. Described by All About Jazz as “stunning” and “breathtakingly expansive and unabashedly modern,” the group blends deep groove, improvisation, and forward-thinking composition into a distinctive musical voice.

A collaborative project between trombonist Reut Regev and drummer Igal Foni, Rtime has been evolving since the release of their internationally acclaimed debut album, This Is Rtime (Ropeadope, 2009). Their discography includes the follow-up releases exploring the vibe and Keep Winning (Enja Records), both featuring renowned free-funk guitarist Jean-Paul Bourelly and master bassist Mark Peterson.

Their latest album, released in 2024 on ESP Records, showcases compositions by Doug Hammond and features the core ensemble alongside special guest bassist Eric Revis.

R*time has performed at major international festivals including the Berlin Jazz Festival, Skopje Jazz Festival, Münster Jazz Festival, Stanser Musiktage, Belgrade Jazz Festival, Vision Festival (NYC), Moscow Jazz Festival, Halifax Jazz Festival, Jazz d’Or Festival (Strasbourg), Göttingen Jazz Festival, and Winter Jazzfest, among many others.

In New York City, the band has appeared at iconic venues such as The Stone, Joe’s Pub, Barbès, The Bitter End, and Cornelia Street Café.
